The Lochaber area is renowned for its spectacular scenery and boasts many geological features of national and international importance.

We are delighted to report that at their recent meeting the EGN decided to admit Lochaber to the European Geoparks Network - the 31st area to be awarded this status in Europe. Lochaber is the second area in Scotland to be awarded European Geopark status after the North-West Highlands in 2004.
