The Highland Exchange website offers more information, research and statistics about the Highland tourism industry and is a valuable resource both for tourism businesses and those undertaking educational projects.


VisitScotland - Highlands

From 1 April 2005 VisitScotland is the statutory body responsible for promoting and developing tourism in the Highlands as well as the rest of Scotland. As well as a core office VisitScotland includes fourteen network offices covering Scotland including one covering the Highlands. Our main functions are:
  • to service the needs of customers - tourism trade and visitor
  • to market Scotland in co-operation with tourism businesses, groups and Visitbritain
  • to provide assistance to tourism businesses
  • to advise local government on tourism issues
  • to produce and disseminate market intelligence

Our close working relationship with our funding partners and businesses is an integral part of our operating procedures.
