Fochabers, Keith & Coastal Villages

Fochabers, east of the River Spey, is a small village on the A96 route through Moray. A haven for local produce, food lovers should visit Baxters Highland Village; a family run fine-food producer operating since 1868. An excellent visitor centre, speciality shops and restaurants all make this village worth visiting. Nearby is Christies Garden Centre, with spectacular nurseries and a fine gift hall with tasty cakes at the Teapot Restaurant.

That seeking adrenaline can find it on the motain bike at the Moray Monster Trails which branch out from Fochabers and stretch as far as Ben Aigan where views spread out across Speyside.

Fochabers is a key stopping off point on the famed walking route the ‘Speyside Way’ and is also close to the beaches and Wildlife Centre at Spey Bay. As well as the Speyside Way, walkers will enjoy the Coastal Trail which includes the spectacular Bow Fiddle Rock, the arch shaped rock formation at Portknockie and explore the quaint coastal villages en-route.

South of Cullen is Keith, a peaceful town, home to Strathisla; which founded in 1786, is the oldest working Whisky distillery in the Scottish Highlands.
