Adventure sports

Ever tried gorge walking? How about white-water rafting? Maybe you want to brush up on your winter skills or your hill navigation?

Whatever your taste, we have the terrain, we have the instruction centres, the activity providers and the qualified instructors to deliver a quality experience.

There are comparatively straightforward walking and hiking packages. Or you could try abseiling for a different view of sheer rock. Obviously, rock-climbing and scrambling are on the menu. And if you really can't get enough of this clambering about, then there are even places which offer tree-climbing. (Imagine the view from the top of a huge Scots pine.) In any case, the forested terrain also makes excellent ground for orienteering.

Taking to the water can mean extreme activities like white-water rafting. Gorge walking, mentioned above, partly fits the water category as well and has been defined as getting up a hill in a wet suit by the wettest possible method. Winter, of course, brings its own set of challenges for skiers, downhill, X-country or Telemark. Winter climbs on snow and ice are obviously on the menu.

The list of adventurous things to do is as varied as the land itself here in the Highlands. If you can¿t choose, then a multi-activity holiday might be the answer. Certainly, there are a good range of activity providers and companies who can package the pastimes for you. Choose a different activity each day and go home healthier! Besides, whatever you choose, you can be sure of the highest standards of instruction - and lots of fun.
