Sailing & cruising
Our near empty land and sea means freedom from pollution, crowded harbours and the other restraints that so often limit your enjoyment.
So - set a course for the Highlands and experience the freedom of our seas.
Cruising in the Highlands is not all tough, demanding sailing - many areas are ideal for the relative beginner. Pilotage is straightforward, tides are no stronger than in, say, the Solent, there is little shipping, and fog is rare.
Our cruising grounds are unspoiled with the unique combination of land and seascape virtually untouched by man. The choice includes the western seaboard; the indented coastline of Skye and on the east, the Moray Firth. Away from the sea the Caledonian Canal and lochs Ness, Lochy and Oich, which help make up the canal offer excellent sailing and cruising.
This environment is one of peace and quiet, of empty anchorages, of clear clean water, of long summer evenings when it barely gets dark at all. It's one you will not want to miss.
