Food & Drink

Taking home some food or drink from the Highlands as a quality souvenir or gift is a good idea. Especially when you consider the range of options available.

Whisky, shortbread or oatcakes spring to mind straightaway - but what about Highland meats such as venison or organic lamb? Vacuum-packed, you'll get them home easily. Attractively packaged smoked meats or fish are another range to consider, the speciality of a number of Highland smoke-houses.

After the main course, you might want to move on to a locally-produced Highland cheese (smoked or otherwise) - again, widely available and attractively packaged, or perhaps some hand-made chocolates, made in the Highlands. Then there are the little gifts of jams and honeys or relishes - just the thing to take back in your suitcase!

From gift-wrapped clootie dumplings, birch wine, heather-honey and whisky liqueurs, strong ales from Skye - all the way to a freezer-ready haunch of wild venison, take home a taste of the Highlands!
